Green Door

What is that white thing in the upper left hand corner of this photo? If you guessed that it is an electric shower head, then you are correct. You see this small room with the green door is normally the shower room in the Uspanteco Center in Las Pacayas.

But on January 13th it was a recording studio. Cristobal [far left with earphones on and hands to the sound mixer] is recording the 5th music cassette of his daughter Roxanna.

Roxanna is accompanied by Manuel at his electronic keyboard.

Manuel plays for the small church across the road from the Center. We have seen improvement in his ability to coax sweet sounds from the electronic keyboard in the last few years. We can now use his original renditions for background music in other recordings we want to make.

This photo of Roxanna, 13, will be used on the cassette cover for her fifth recording.

This is the photo on Roxanna's first music cassette cover 3 years ago. She is maturing into an accomplished soloist singing Uspanteco choruses.
